Case Study: Kaspar Schulz achieves faster pipe routing and integrated project planning and 3D design with Solid Edge

A Solid Edge Case Study

Preview of the Kaspar Schulz Case Study

Solid Edge provides recipe for success for one of the world’s oldest manufacturers of brewery machinery

Kaspar Schulz is a historic family-owned brewery-equipment manufacturer in Bamberg, Germany, with about 125 employees that builds custom brew houses and microbreweries. Facing the need to integrate project planning, pipe routing and 3D design while handling third‑party CAD data and complex sheet‑metal work, Kaspar Schulz adopted Solid Edge software (including the XpresRoute pipe‑routing module and sheet‑metal tools) to modernize its product development.

Using Solid Edge and partner solutions (Smap3D Plant Design/PDM via Solid System Team), Kaspar Schulz implemented synchronous modeling, modular parameterized components and integrated pipe‑routing workflows, enabling seamless DXF/DWG/STEP data exchange and automated sheet‑metal output to plasma cutting. Solid Edge’s tools and support have significantly sped the company’s pipe routing and design iterations, shortened the time to generate new specifications, and improved overall productivity and data handling across projects.
