Case Study: Either Tech achieves aerospace market entry and improved productivity with Solid Edge

A Solid Edge Case Study

Preview of the Either Tech Co. Case Study

Siemens Digital Industries Software solutions enable Either Tech to increase productivity and part quality

Either Tech Co., a Taiwan-based precision machining and manufacturing firm serving aerospace, automotive and optics customers, faced shrinking margins and needed to penetrate the competitive aerospace market but struggled to get new 5‑axis machines productive because CAM software and machine tools were incompatible. To standardize workflows and enable reliable 5‑axis programming, Either Tech adopted Siemens’ Solid Edge along with NX CAM (demonstrated and supported by partner CADEX) to simplify CAD management and integrate CAM with shop‑floor machines.

Using Solid Edge and NX CAM, Either Tech eliminated the need to repair imported 3D models, enabled engineers to test and optimize NC programs, and fine‑tune machining during mass production. The solution increased production capacity and part quality, cut machining time (engineers reported up to a 20‑minute saving per part in some cases), reduced machine wear, and by the end of 2017 more than 60% of parts were processed with 5‑axis/mill‑turn operations—facilitating entry into the aerospace market. Solid Edge (with NX CAM and CADEX support) delivered clear, measurable efficiency and competitiveness gains.
