Schätti AG, a family-owned Swiss metalwork company, needed to reduce production costs after winning a large order and opened a second plant in Plovdiv, Bulgaria. To coordinate design work across the two sites and migrate their existing I‑deas data, Schätti selected Solid Edge as its CAD solution because it offered a strong price-performance ratio and straightforward database transfer.

Solid Edge was deployed at both locations and proved easy to learn, allowing Plovdiv staff to become productive quickly. Combined with Teamcenter for a shared product database, the Solid Edge-based solution enabled integrated workflows (parts produced in Schwanden and assembled in Plovdiv), continuous end‑to‑end data use, faster collaboration between sites, and support for the cost-saving two-site production model; Schätti now plans to integrate CAM Express into Teamcenter to further unify data.
