NIT Kurukshetra trains over 350 students with Solid Edge

The National Institute of Technology (NIT) Kurukshetra faced a challenge when the COVID-19 pandemic caused a scarcity of hands-on internships for its engineering students. To bridge the gap between academia and industry and equip students with the skills needed for Industry 4.0, NIT Kurukshetra partnered with vendor Solid Edge's parent company, Siemens, to establish a Center of Excellence (CoE).

The solution involved creating an innovative four-and-a-half-month internship program centered on Siemens' industry-grade software and hardware, including Solid Edge, NX, and Simcenter. This program enabled over 350 students to gain hands-on experience, successfully completing 40 projects and giving the CoE a Net Promoter Score of 75. The initiative has since trained over 1,000 candidates and inspired other institutes to develop similar programs.
