Mecmesin is a UK-based designer and manufacturer of force, torque and materials testing equipment, operating under ISO 9001 standards and serving industries from aerospace to medical devices. To speed in-house mechanical, electronic and software development and to expand into the materials-testing market (including the new OmniTest UTM), Mecmesin has relied on Solid Edge since 1999 to support both standard and bespoke product designs and to reduce reliance on physical prototypes.

Using Solid Edge, Mecmesin integrated electronic design, ran simulated testing scenarios and cut back on physical prototyping; the team also applied Solid Edge’s Generative Design to create lighter, ergonomic components and the AR tools to visualize products in customers’ environments. Those changes helped shift the portfolio away from heavy-industrial machines, delivered cost savings of up to 300% and improved customer engagement, with Solid Edge remaining a core part of Mecmesin’s product development strategy.
