Kraftblock stores heat at up to 1300°C with Solid Edge

Kraftblock, a German startup focused on developing sustainable energy storage technology, faced the challenge of storing excess energy created by renewable sources and manufacturing plants. They utilized Solid Edge software, provided through the Siemens Solid Edge Startup Program, to develop their solution.

Using Solid Edge, Kraftblock designed a storage-based energy system with a core made of unique, recycled pellets that can absorb extreme heat. The vendor's software, noted for being easy to use with helpful simulation functionalities, was crucial for early prototyping. This support helped the startup successfully develop its transportable heat-storage units, which can cover the yearly heat consumption of two single-family homes, and grow into an award-winning six-year-old company.
