Industrial Control Associates (ICA) is an eight‑person systems integrator and machine builder specializing in PLC machines and custom fabrication that needed to compete with much larger firms by improving collaboration, efficiency and its “large‑company” image. To address these challenges ICA adopted Solid Edge and Teamcenter (Siemens Digital Industries Software) to bring PLM capabilities into its design and delivery processes.

ICA implemented Solid Edge for solid modeling and synchronous technology and Teamcenter as a single PLM repository and workflow engine. The results from Solid Edge and Teamcenter include a drop in remanufacturing from 20% to 2%, a 33% reduction in job completion time, up to a 30% reduction in design phase time using synchronous technology, and much faster information search (from 10 minutes to about 30 seconds), enabling quicker customer responses, cleaner BOMs and automated release processes.
