i3Detroit uses Solid Edge’s 5GB cloud collaboration to power maker projects

The customer, i3Detroit, is a large community-run DIY workshop and makerspace in Detroit. Their challenge was providing skilled hobbyists and makers with accessible tools for design and project collaboration to support their wide range of creative building projects. They met this challenge by utilizing Solid Edge software.

Solid Edge provided a solution that included free tools for 2D and 3D design, design for 3D printing, and cloud-based collaboration. This allowed members to draft ideas, create models for prototyping, and manage projects with 5GB of free cloud storage. As a result, i3Detroit members, like craftsman John Anderson, successfully use Solid Edge to design and build complex projects such as gyrocopters and remote control vehicles.
