Grossmann Uhren GmbH sells out 100-piece watch launch in 6 months with Solid Edge

Grossmann Uhren GmbH, a watchmaking company, sought to revive the classic Moritz Grossmann brand by manufacturing exclusive, high-quality wristwatches in Glashuette, Germany. Their challenge was to design and produce these complex, aesthetically-driven timepieces efficiently. To meet modern quality requirements, they required a sophisticated computer-aided design (CAD) solution, leading them to adopt Solid Edge from Siemens Digital Industries Software.

Using Solid Edge, the company streamlined its design process, allowing the chief designer to manage changes and variants much faster and to create 3D models from 2D sketches. The software's integrated data management and assembly modeling capabilities provided a significant advantage. This solution, combined with advanced CNC machine tools, enabled Grossmann Uhren to successfully develop and sell out its first limited-edition watch model. While prototypes and specialized tools are still necessary, Solid Edge supports the entire process, from design to manufacturing, which the company states could not have been achieved without this CAD solution.
