Green Box adopts Solid Edge to design turnkey plants

Green Box, an Italy-based industrial chiller specialist, needed to deliver fully customized, right-sized turnkey plants — from 3D piping and assemblies to complete installation materials and documentation — without oversizing or compromising manufacturability. To meet these challenges the company adopted Solid Edge (Siemens Digital Industries Software’s virtual-prototype solution) to integrate design and engineering workflows for its custom chiller and temperature-control systems.

Using Solid Edge’s virtual-prototyping and 3D design capabilities, Green Box streamlined creation of 3D models, assembly drawings and user manuals, improved manufacturability checks and ensured complete, all-inclusive supplies for onsite installation. Solid Edge’s solution improved design-to-manufacturing integration, enabling Green Box to consistently deliver customized, energy-efficient turnkey plants while supporting its existing production scale (about 1,000 machines per year) and global sales network.
