Case Study: ANDRITZ Ritz cuts cycle times and automates production with Solid Edge

A Solid Edge Case Study

Preview of the Andritz Ritz Case Study

Direct engineering-to-shop floor link minimizes machine downtime

Andritz Ritz, a leading manufacturer of pumps and submersible motors, needed to reduce cycle times, improve product quality and increase automation across engineering, NC programming and machining. The company upgraded from 2D to 3D design using Solid Edge as part of a broader PLM strategy to create a lean, integrated process from design through production.

Using Solid Edge as the CAD foundation integrated with Teamcenter, NX CAM and Shop Floor Connect, the vendor’s solution created a direct engineering-to-shop-floor link that automates NC data flow and supports shop-floor access to released information. The implementation delivered a seamless flow of information to CNC controls, more reliable automated production with fewer errors, faster setups and less downtime, documented/certified quality and significant cost savings — including reduced machine idle time and the ability to absorb workload without replacing two retired NC programmers.
