AESSEAL Plc, a world‑class mechanical sealing specialist exporting to 64 countries, struggled to develop increasingly complex products using legacy 2D CAD. Designers faced long, laborious workflows (for example, laying out intricate helical scrolls could take two to three days) and manual trigonometric calculations to reprogram machine tools, leaving shop-floor machines running at about 20% efficiency. To overcome these limits AESSEAL Plc selected Solid Edge (alongside Siemens’ NX CAM) to provide modern 3D modeling and integrated data management.

Using Solid Edge for 3D design and NX CAM for direct CNC programming, AESSEAL Plc eliminated cumbersome manual transfers and reprogramming, enabling designers to visualize and create complex components far more quickly. Solid Edge’s integrated workflows allowed CNC part programs to be generated from 3D models and loaded directly to machine tools, reducing design‑to‑production time, increasing machine utilization and empowering the design team to deliver the innovative products demanded by the competitive mechanical sealing market.
