Applied Science Venture, a Singapore-based product innovation company, needed to move from 2D CAD to 3D as its consumer products grew more complex. To visualize assemblies, check interferences and produce patentable, market-ready designs more efficiently, Applied Science Venture adopted the Solid Edge solution from Siemens Digital Industries Software (using Solid Edge and Solid Edge Virtual Studio) to support its R&D and product development work.

Solid Edge enabled on-screen interference checking, realistic rendering for design reviews, quick modifications, and fast generation of accurate drawings and bills of material. As a result, Applied Science Venture now routinely designs assemblies of 50–60 parts with far fewer errors, produced usable 3D models within a day and completed a complex first Solid Edge design in two weeks, while accelerating design reviews and downstream documentation.
