Aequator AG uses Teamcenter and Solid Edge to digitalize design and manufacturing while enhancing product development to accelerate and improve quality

Aequator AG, a Swiss manufacturer of commercial coffee and beverage machines, needed to design and deliver customized espresso machines in as little as six weeks while maintaining top quality and supporting 10–20% annual growth. Although engineers already used Solid Edge for CAD, fragmented legacy ERP and PDM systems caused inconsistent BOMs, manual rework and slow design‑to‑manufacture transitions that risked on‑time delivery and scalability.

Aequator implemented Siemens Teamcenter PLM integrated with Solid Edge (with partner Cytrus AG) to create a fully digitalized, company‑wide “single source of truth” and a bi‑directional ERP interface. The Solid Edge/Teamcenter solution automated BOM management and workflows, eliminated one to two man‑years of manual BOM adjustments, sped up product turnaround while maintaining or improving quality, and enabled Aequator to build more than 15,000 machines in the first year across multiple custom designs.
