A leading Russian pipeline part producer expands product portfolio and wins new business using Solid Edge

KONAR, a well-known Russian producer of pipeline valves, flanges and fittings, needed to speed up product development, reduce design errors and strengthen relationships with major oil and gas customers. To modernize its design and preproduction workflow the company implemented Solid Edge—adopting 3D modeling, parametric design and Solid Edge’s synchronous technology—supported by Siemens partner PLM Ural and targeted designer training.

Using Solid Edge, KONAR standardized 3D processes, improved change-management speed and began digitally exchanging models with partners and customers. Within a year the firm designed a DN 700 PN 80 gate valve two months after deployment, produced three new valve variants, built two fastener libraries, shortened time-to-market, improved design quality and won new oil and gas business—demonstrating measurable gains in efficiency and collaboration enabled by Solid Edge.
