3D Design Solution supports efficiency and business growth at MasterMover

MasterMover, a UK maker of electric tugs that let a single pedestrian operator move loads up to 120 metric tons, faced inefficiencies from an ad-hoc drawing system that made design reuse and traceability difficult as the company expanded into multiple industries. To bring structure and support growth, MasterMover adopted the Solid Edge 3D design solution from Siemens Digital Industries Software.

Using Solid Edge, MasterMover implemented a logical numbering scheme and a searchable, filterable database so design, sales, stock and service all share the same identification codes, enabling rapid reuse of designs and streamlined communication. The Solid Edge solution cut development time, improved quality and customer service, and turned processes that once took days—such as tracing a part number from an invoice or BOM—into instant lookups.
