Plymouth College of Art Sharpened Their Control of Departmental Spending

Plymouth College of Art (PCA), an independent higher education provider in Plymouth, faced a major finance challenge: a small team was burdened by manual admin and inefficient processes while trying to control widespread departmental spending. Staff were using more than 70 traditional corporate credit cards, creating time‑consuming tasks like downloading statements, chasing receipts and managing card stops. To solve this, PCA implemented Soldo’s prepaid card and spend‑management app to regain control and streamline workflows.

Soldo was rolled out from a pilot to around 100 individual prepaid cards, with finance‑managed spend limits, contactless and cash controls, and an app that lets users photograph receipts and choose preconfigured categories. The result: the finance team handles more cards with far less manual effort, gains real‑time visibility into transactions, speeds up expense processes, and improves the accuracy of spend data — with high staff adoption and greater confidence in fraud protection.
