Coffee#1 is a British hospitality chain (HQ Bristol, ~200 employees, 100+ locations) that needed a fast, cash-free alternative to petty cash when COVID-19 forced stores to go cashless. With tills banked and emergency purchases still needed, the existing manual process of using till float and scanning receipts left finance with poor visibility and slow reporting. Coffee#1 chose Soldo’s prepaid card/digital expense system to replace petty cash across its estate.

Soldo implemented a trial rollout of prepaid cards and a central wallet, enabling stores to receive funds instantly, capture digital receipts, and apply built-in spending rules. The finance team gained real-time transaction visibility—moving from checking roughly 10% of receipts to being able to review 100%—and simplified month‑end reporting across 100+ locations. The initial trial became a long-term solution, giving Coffee#1 full oversight and tighter control of spend while reducing burden on store managers.
