SolarEdge Wins at Wisconsin City Hall

The city of Wauwatosa, Wisconsin, sought a large-scale solar project to meet its emissions goals and achieve financial savings at its City Hall complex. Installer Arch Solar needed a solution that could deliver maximum clean energy and a fast return on investment, while also overcoming site challenges like shading from surrounding trees and buildings. They proposed a system using SolarEdge inverters and power optimizers.

Arch Solar implemented a SolarEdge DC-optimized PV system, which provided design flexibility and ensured maximum energy production even when parts of the array were shaded. The 389 kW SolarEdge system came in under budget and generated 458,011 kWh in its first nine months, covering 55% of the site's energy use and reducing carbon emissions by 358 tons. This put the city on track to cut its emissions by 50% by 2030.
