The customer, GainForest, faced a challenge with the lack of transparency and verifiability in traditional Payments for Ecosystem Services (PES) programs. To combat deforestation, they needed a way to ensure donations for reforestation would reach local communities directly and that the ecological impact of their work could be reliably tracked and proven, avoiding issues of fraud and mismanagement.

Using the Solana blockchain, the vendor implemented a solution featuring smart contracts and dynamic "NFTrees." Solana's technology automated and verified conservation milestones using AI and satellite data, triggering direct, automatic payouts to local farmers and indigenous communities. This created a transparent, verifiable system for donors. The results included the successful mapping of 3,000 trees in a pilot project and the establishment of a reliable financial incentive model for conservation, bringing new transparency to ecological efforts.
