The athletic shoe brand ASICS aimed to innovate its core business and create a new kind of loyalty program that would be scalable and provide genuine utility to its customers. Looking to move beyond its first NFT project, the company partnered with the Solana Foundation to leverage the Solana Pay service for a web3 solution.

The Solana Foundation implemented a solution using Solana Pay to pair physical shoe sales with onchain NFT loyalty badges. This provided customers with ownership of their digital assets and enabled a global preorder campaign paid for with USDC. The results included $600,000 in revenue from 3,000 units sold across 62 countries, marking ASICS' first global shoe distribution and generating over a billion media impressions. The Solana platform was chosen for its ease of use, low cost, and minimal environmental impact.
