A Solace Case Study

Case study about U.S. Department of Homeland Security working with Solace.

The Domestic Nuclear Detection Office (DNDO) of the United States Department of Homeland Security is a jointly staffed office established to improve the Nation’s ability to detect and report unauthorized attempts to import, possess, store, develop, or transport nuclear or radiological material for use against the Nation. The DNDO uses Solace’s technology to enhance threat monitoring and response capabilities of local, state and federal emergency organizations in urban areas. Solace appliances work in conjunction with strategically placed sensors, as well as applications responsible for recognizing threats and coordinating responses, to improve the country’s ability to protect population centers and critical infrastructure. Solace’s appliances are compliant with the Emergency Data Exchange Language (EDXL) suite of standards, which the DHS has adopted to improve communication between government agencies and non-governmental organizations. The solution also supports other relevant standards such as OASIS Common Alerting Protocol (CAP), NIEM N.25 and Suspicious Activity Reports, USAF Cursor-On-Target, and the IEEE 1512 family of standards.
