The Higher Education Authority implements Softworks HR and Flexitime Solutions

The Higher Education Authority (HEA), the central body overseeing Ireland’s higher education and research system, needed to replace its legacy workforce system with a modern, intuitive solution offering broader HR functionality. Key requirements included automated time & attendance (fixed, flexi and part-time), configurable business rules, paperless absence management, employee and manager self-service, HR and payroll integration, training/skills tracking, alerts and robust reporting.

HEA selected Softworks for its functionality, modern interface and public-sector track record, implementing Time & Attendance, Absence & Leave, HR Management, Self-Service (including mobile), Alerts & Workflow, Training & Skills Tracking and Reporting. The project went live after a six-week rollout with training and ongoing support; results included elimination of paper trails, combined HR and flexi systems, greater employee ownership of profiles, improved HR visibility on performance and entitlements, and overwhelmingly positive user feedback.
