CJ Sheeran makes employee Time & Attendance management easier with Softworks

CJ Sheeran, Ireland’s largest manufacturer of timber packaging, pallets and related timber products, needed a better way to manage Time & Attendance, Training and HR across its three companies. Although a clocking system recorded hours for 280 employees, payroll still required time-consuming manual calculations, so the company sought an integrated solution to automate the link from clocking to payroll.

They implemented the cloud-based Softworks Workforce Management system (Time & Attendance, Clocking, HR, Skills & Training, Payroll Integration and Employee Self-Service), first creating rosters that automatically calculate hours from clocking data and export to payroll. The change eliminated manual payroll calculations, greatly reduced weekly payroll processing time (halving it in one area), freed staff for other priorities, and set the stage for rolling out HR functionality and an Employee Self-Service app.
