Citizens Information Service automates and streamlines its workforce management with Softworks

The Citizens Information Service (CIS) is a publicly funded charity that provides information and advocacy on public and social services across Ireland. After reorganising 42 local offices into eight regional companies in 2018, CIS faced inconsistent, manual HR and time-management processes—relying on paper, spreadsheets and ad-hoc workflows—and needed a standardised, automated system to handle complex sick-leave rules, time in lieu and central HR administration.

CIS selected the cloud-based Softworks Workforce Management Solution (including Time & Attendance, Clocking, Flexitime, HR Management, Absence and Employee Self-Service) and rolled it out region-by-region with targeted training. The system automated timesheets and leave, centralised HR documents, delivered flexible reporting and made time-in-lieu visibility immediate—saving managers time, reducing errors and improving accuracy—while plans continue to roll out mobile self-service for employees.
