SoftwareOne’s Microsoft Advisory Services helped Lineas to optimize its M365 licensing that offers more functionality while reducing costs

Lineas, a private rail freight operator in Belgium, wanted to implement Microsoft 365 to support modern operations, remote work, and better collaboration across Europe, but it faced expiring enterprise agreement terms, limited Microsoft licensing expertise, and compliance concerns. SoftwareONE’s Microsoft Advisory Services helped Lineas assess its Microsoft software estate and define a better licensing strategy.

SoftwareONE scanned and reconciled licenses for 1,900 users and 400 servers, then built three future licensing scenarios to optimize Lineas’ new Microsoft 365 agreement. As a result, Lineas gained more functionality, improved manageability and flexibility, and avoided costs of €708,848 over three years, while setting up a central O365 platform with Teams, Exchange Online, and OneDrive for more efficient collaboration.
