The City of Lincoln Council, serving nearly 100,000 residents in the United Kingdom, needed to modernize an almost entirely on-premises, Citrix-based environment made up of more than 70 legacy applications. To improve collaboration, citizen services, security, and disaster continuity, the council turned to SoftwareONE for technical consultancy, licensing advisory, and support with migrating 650+ employees to Microsoft 365.
SoftwareONE implemented Microsoft 365, Exchange Online, Microsoft Teams, Power Platform, and PyraCloud to streamline communications, automate workflows, and optimize licensing and cloud costs. The council digitized key processes such as sickness reporting, starter/leaver workflows, complaints, risk tracking, and grant administration, helping it pay out £29.8 million in COVID-19 business grants, improve security and BYOD support, become more data-driven, and communicate better with residents.
