A SoftwareONE Case Study
Grupo Transocéanica, through its Tercon Container Terminals operation in Ecuador, needed to modernize a limited container tracking system that lacked scalability, customer notifications, and support for more than a single internal user per warehouse. The on-premises Oracle-based application was creating operational bottlenecks, traffic congestion, and rising infrastructure and licensing costs, prompting the company to seek help from SoftwareONE.
SoftwareONE migrated the tracking platform to AWS using a three-phase Assess > Mobilize > Modernize approach, replacing the Oracle database with PostgreSQL on Amazon RDS and adopting serverless services such as AWS Lambda, Amazon API Gateway, and Amazon SES. The new cloud solution improved availability, automation, and real-time notifications while cutting operating expenses by 99%, reducing management overhead, and enabling faster development and better capacity management.
