Grupo Transocéanica, through its Tercon Container Terminals operation in Ecuador, needed to modernize a limited container tracking system that lacked scalability, customer notifications, and support for more than a single internal user per warehouse. The on-premises Oracle-based application was creating operational bottlenecks, traffic congestion, and rising infrastructure and licensing costs, prompting the company to seek help from SoftwareONE.

SoftwareONE migrated the tracking platform to AWS using a three-phase Assess > Mobilize > Modernize approach, replacing the Oracle database with PostgreSQL on Amazon RDS and adopting serverless services such as AWS Lambda, Amazon API Gateway, and Amazon SES.
