Implementing SAP S/4HANA on Azure reduces infrastructure costs while increasing business and IT agility

Global Oil and Gas Company, an energy company operating across the world and the value chain, was running an aging SAP environment on outdated infrastructure. The company faced hardware and software constraints, limited disaster recovery and business continuity testing, and an end-of-life BW Accelerator appliance, while also preparing for a new operating model and a move to SAP S/4HANA. SoftwareONE provided SAP S/4HANA Implementation Services to help modernize the platform.

SoftwareONE migrated the full SAP landscape to Microsoft Azure in phases, redesigned the technical architecture, replaced the BW Accelerator with a SQL Server column-based platform, and later deployed a greenfield S/4HANA system on Azure. The result was a fully supported SAP environment with greater flexibility, scalable disaster recovery, and improved security, while avoiding nearly 50% of migration costs and delivering an average 90% improvement in long-running SAP processes.
