How VfL Bochum 1848 enriches soccer events with digital apps and offers for its fans

VfL Bochum 1848, the German soccer club, wanted to improve the fan experience and modernize operations as it returned to Germany’s 1st league. To do this, it worked with SoftwareONE to digitize season ticket sales and build a more modern digital fan journey using Microsoft Azure and Application Modernization Services.

SoftwareONE implemented a browser-based ticketing solution on Azure that automated registration, seat selection, and digital signature approval with AdobeSign, while also rehosting Linux and Windows virtual machines. The vendor also modernized the club’s website and launched a mobile app, resulting in faster, fully automated season ticket sales for 15,000 fans, improved service and navigation, better fan engagement, and ongoing high availability through Azure monitoring and support.
