Future-proofing infrastructure with SAP on Azure

Global Retailer, a multi-billion-dollar retail chain, was facing the cost and complexity of replacing aging infrastructure and began exploring a move from on-premises systems to the cloud. After an Architectural Design Workshop and pilot with Microsoft and SoftwareONE, the company chose to modernize its SAP environment using SoftwareONE’s SAP on Hyperscaler Cloud on Azure, with a path toward SAP S/4HANA.

SoftwareONE planned and managed the build of the new SAP S/4HANA landscape on Azure, using Terraform and Ansible to automate infrastructure deployment, hardening, and security configuration. The project improved delivery time for complete landscapes from one or two weeks to just two days, enabled 40 landscapes over two years, and supported high availability, disaster recovery, and security requirements while reducing costs and meeting or exceeding security needs.
