Aare Seeland mobil AG, a regional Swiss passenger transport company, wanted to reduce the high costs of maintaining its on-premises IT infrastructure while keeping data and applications immediately available. To support its move to the cloud, the company worked with SoftwareONE and used AWS Lift-and-Shift Migration services to begin modernizing its IT environment.

SoftwareONE implemented a lift-and-shift migration to AWS, creating an AWS landing zone with interconnected sub-accounts and using AWS Transit Gateway and AWS Directory Service for access and management. The result was greater flexibility, high availability, easier scalability, clearer cost allocation across projects, improved security and transparency in a multi-account environment, and significant cost savings versus new hardware investments.
