Making Testing More Convenient and Secure for Everyone

Florida Institute of Technology’s Behavioral Science and Technology department runs a popular online Applied Behavioral Analysis certification program serving hundreds of students across the U.S. and abroad. As enrollment grew, the school faced a cumbersome remote-proctoring process—students had to find and schedule trusted proctors and staff struggled with unreliable communications and limited capacity to monitor exams, raising concerns about cheating and academic integrity.

Florida Tech piloted and then rolled out Software Secure’s Remote Proctor PRO, which uses Securexam software, a USB authentication device, a lockdown browser, and audio/video capture for 360° monitoring; Software Secure also provides video review and flagging services. About 275 students have used the system to date, reporting improved convenience and scheduling flexibility, while administrators gained confidence in exam integrity, reduced cheating incidents, and stronger support for accreditation and certification outcomes.
