Implementation of MDM at PennDOT via AirWatch

The Pennsylvania Department of Transportation (PennDOT) needed to securely connect its employees in the field with real-time data but was concerned about the security risks posed by mobile devices and BYOD policies. To address this challenge, they partnered with vendor Software Merchant Inc to implement the AirWatch mobile device management (MDM) solution.

Software Merchant Inc implemented AirWatch MDM to manage PennDOT's 4,800 mobile devices from a single console. Following a successful year-long pilot, the scalable solution was deployed statewide. The results included the secure, remote distribution of data, the ability to wipe devices in case of theft, and centralised management, which was highly recognised by senior management.
