AT&T - Customer Case Study

AT&T, the largest mobile network provider in the USA, needed a better way to track small “bots” placed in stadiums to monitor network performance and identify dropped calls or congestion-related failures. Previously, staff had to physically search stadiums to find these devices for maintenance and battery changes, which often led to delays and some bots becoming dysfunctional. Software Merchant Inc supported the effort with a mobile app-based tracking solution.

Software Merchant Inc implemented the Cannon Tag mobile app, which used Bluetooth-enabled devices inside the bots and an iPad app to remotely scan and identify each unit by its naming convention and IP address. The solution reduced manual searching, cut staff effort, improved turnaround time for bot maintenance cycles, and enabled faster identification of bots through an LED button and remote location tracking, helping AT&T respond more quickly to network issues by adding antennas where needed.
