The customer, VisionFund, a microfinance network, faced the challenge of providing affordable financial services to rural poor and smallholder farmers across Africa, a process that was costly and slow with traditional paperwork. They partnered with vendor Software Group to address this.

Software Group implemented its Digital Field Application (DFA) tablet banking solution, enabling digital customer onboarding and loan origination at the client's doorstep. This reduced loan processing time from three weeks to one day, cut costs for clients, and expanded access. By 2020, VisionFund had served over one million clients through this system and disbursed over $500,000 in loans specifically via the tablet solution.
