A Software AG Case Study
MPWiK S.A. is one of Poland’s largest and oldest municipal water companies, serving about 700,000 people around Wrocław with roughly 700 employees and PLN 372 million in revenue (2015). Facing the need to raise productivity across water production, network service and maintenance while cutting costs and water leakage, the company set out to introduce a process-based management system that could be independently certified (ISO 9001, ISO 14001, ISO 18001) and reduce reliance on custom IT solutions.
Using ARIS to model some 120 processes and webMethods as a universal integration and BPM platform (with a canonical data model), MPWiK automated service‑and‑repair workflows, standardized 22 integration interfaces and opened process monitoring. Results included service teams leaving 25 minutes earlier and doing 20% more tasks, faster water-supply restoration, lower IT maintenance costs through standardized interfaces and a shift toward portal-based work that should cut application customization, licensing and training expenses.
