TURKSTAT Improves Data Access and Develops Services Three Times Faster

The Turkish Statistical Institute (TURKSTAT) collects and publishes Turkey’s official statistics through 26 regional offices and needed to modernize how it shares data. Manual methods and custom coding were too slow and inflexible to meet growing demands for timely, categorized, and secure access, while preserving data integrity and privacy for multiple internal and external stakeholders.

TURKSTAT implemented Software AG’s webMethods ESB together with the SecureSpan Gateway to build a service-oriented data-exchange platform, developing roughly 60 reusable, bi-directional web services. The new platform delivered secure, dynamic access and interoperability, cut average service development and testing from three days to one, and produced roughly 60% time and cost savings while simplifying administration.
