Lyreco, a global office-supplies distributor and key provider of Nespresso machines to workplaces, faced limited real-time insight into machine stock and sales, frequent out-of-order and out-of-stock incidents, and rising operational costs from manual restocking and servicing. To maintain service levels and reduce disruption, Lyreco needed better monitoring, automated stock management and faster fault response.

Lyreco deployed Software AG’s Cumulocity VendMe IoT solution—cloud-based vending telemetry, cellular connectivity, smartphone operator app and SAP integration—enabling live machine telemetry, automated stock rules and process integration. Set up in two weeks, the solution cut out-of-stock and out-of-order events to nearly zero, automated replenishment and dispatch, reduced service costs, and gave real-time visibility into machine performance and usage.
