A Software AG Case Study
The Bavarian Federal State Department of Taxation’s computer center, RZ Nord, faced a costly, time‑consuming problem: 16,000 tax clerks spent significant time composing, printing, enveloping and dispatching citizen correspondence. Handling large volumes of letters manually strained staff resources and IT operations, creating an opportunity to streamline output and reduce administrative costs.
RZ Nord partnered with Software AG to deploy a multi‑client centralized printing service based on Entire Output Management, letting clerks send letters from their PC directly to a high‑volume Nuremberg printing center and track jobs via a web interface. Integrated with Entire Operations for auditing and archiving and supporting additional channels (e‑mail, portals, archives), the solution cut local workloads, delivered fast ROI, improved traceability and infrastructure utilization, and leveraged a printing capacity of up to 126,000 pages and 45,000 mailed letters per hour.
