Software AG Harmonizes Data Transfer in Lidl’s Application System Landscape

Software AG helped Lidl, one of Europe’s largest discount grocers, address the limits of its legacy point-to-point integration as it migrated to the new SAP-based eLRIS. With about 10,000 stores across 29 countries sending data to a central warehouse, Lidl needed a slim, flexible platform to standardize and centralize near‑real‑time data exchange between numerous store, national and central systems.

By deploying Software AG’s webMethods Integration Platform and Enterprise Service Bus, Lidl integrated more than 30 existing systems into the new retail information system, replacing disparate connections with a centralized, reusable connectivity layer. The solution enabled fast, smooth rollout, near‑real‑time inventory visibility, a simplified system landscape and a future‑proof platform that Lidl continues to reuse across projects and countries.
