Schwering & Hasse, a German manufacturer that runs 400 production lines around the clock to produce about 140,000 km of magnetized copper wire per day, faced extreme quality-pressure: minute insulation tolerances, high material and energy costs, and the risk that a single defect could jeopardize major customer relationships.
