A Software AG Case Study
Schwering & Hasse, a German manufacturer that runs 400 production lines around the clock to produce about 140,000 km of magnetized copper wire per day, faced extreme quality-pressure: minute insulation tolerances, high material and energy costs, and the risk that a single defect could jeopardize major customer relationships. Their legacy systems couldn’t provide the real‑time, granular visibility needed to detect and respond to emerging production issues across dozens of parameters.
S&H implemented Apama to build a “transparent” factory that monitors dozens of quality factors in real time, handles up to 50,000 events per second, and gives line workers intuitive, floor‑level interfaces. The solution delivers continuous quality control (detecting faults to within 25 mm), faster responses to problems, uninterrupted production, quicker product introductions and ultimately higher margins and stronger customer confidence.
