A Software AG Case Study
Royal Philips, a Dutch multinational in lighting, healthcare and consumer lifestyle with operations in 100 countries and over €22 billion in revenue, set out in 2011 to become a more agile, process-oriented company. Under its “Accelerate!” program Philips aimed to speed time-to-market for new propositions and improve business–market alignment across its global operations.
To achieve that goal Philips adopted Software AG’s ARIS platform to connect business process owners, IT and partners, capture end-to-end business models and document Components Business Models (CBM), and to model, monitor and report on performance. The initiative quickly reduced unrewarded complexity in non-differentiating processes, saved millions of euros, consolidated fragmented tools into a single source of truth, harmonized process design and is now being evaluated as a global quality management system.
