Case Study: Pegasus Airlines achieves rapid API rollout and reduced integration costs with Software AG’s webMethods

A Software AG Case Study

Preview of the Pegasus Airlines Case Study

Pegasus Airlines flies high with webMethods

Pegasus Airlines, Turkey’s largest low-cost carrier serving over 100 destinations, faced shrinking passenger numbers after a 2020 landing incident and the COVID-19 crisis. The airline was burdened by a monolithic, point-to-point IT landscape that drove up maintenance costs, slowed development, and limited its ability to create new revenue streams or improve the passenger experience.

Pegasus implemented Software AG’s webMethods Integration and API Gateway to add an agility layer, connect application silos, and securely expose APIs to partners and developers. The platform reduced integration and maintenance time, accelerated time to market, enabled big-data use and mobile apps, and improved partner onboarding—resulting in 700 integrations in production, about 3 million transactions per day and 99.99% availability while positioning the airline to expand its API ecosystem and monetize its data.
