Management of Business Process Bottlenecks During Rapid Growth

SABIC Europe, the petrochemical subsidiary of SABIC with about 6,000 employees and production sites across Europe, faced rapid growth and the consolidation of diverse companies and IT landscapes. To maintain cost leadership and seamless operations, the company needed a transparent, process-driven business model and stronger BPM and SAP support to identify and resolve logistics, technical, financial and HR bottlenecks.

SABIC implemented the ARIS Solution for Process‑Driven SAP Management, combining Six Sigma, SAP ASAP and ARIS Value Engineering methods across Define‑Measure‑Analyze‑Improve‑Change phases. Using ARIS workshops, Simulation, Redocumentation and synchronization with SAP Solution Manager plus ARIS Publisher for rollout, they built a BPM/SAP knowledge center, improved IT–business communication, sped up and raised project quality, simplified impact analyses and created process templates for future rollouts—supporting targeted capacity growth (≈50% in about four years) while keeping control per Six Sigma principles.
