Landsbond der Christelijke Mutualiteiten (LCM) is Belgium’s largest social health insurer, serving over 4.5 million members through 20 regional funds with 5,900 employees. Faced with rapidly growing, heterogeneous data exchanges (flat files, XML, Kmehr, CareNet) and stricter real-time SLAs, LCM struggled with rising complexity, development bottlenecks and the need to modernize while retaining legacy systems like COBOL.

LCM implemented Software AG’s webMethods and CentraSite to create a B2B messaging layer that automates, validates, converts and monitors message flows, with governance, security and traceability built in. The integrated solution enabled faster service creation and reuse, improved SLA measurement and compliance, reduced development effort, and put over 30 services into production (including insurance requests, billing and home care reimbursements), increasing efficiency, reliability and time-to-market.
