Hsbc Turkey Banks on Centrasite for Effective Soa Governance

HSBC Turkey, a major arm of the global HSBC group with over 335 branches and 3.5 million customers, set out to double its customer base and branch network within five years without increasing staff. To enable this rapid expansion it needed a holistic SOA governance framework to improve lifecycle management, asset re-usability and end-to-end impact analysis, but lacked a central registry, effective asset analysis and semantic metadata to govern services and manage change risk.

The bank selected Software AG’s CentraSite as its SOA registry and repository, integrating it with existing tools to catalog assets, define taxonomies and automate impact analysis. In under 60 days HSBC built a central asset repository and now manages 250+ business services and some 10,000 IT assets through CentraSite, achieving greater re-usability, lower costs, faster decision-making and reduced change-management risk.
