High-powered efficiency with ARIS

Westfalen Weser Energie (WWE) is a regional utility in Germany serving over one million customers across 6,400 km² with around 900 employees. Facing growth, strict regulation, GDPR and IT‑security requirements, and the need to digitalize all customer interactions and manage a changing ecosystem of partners, WWE needed a centralized way to document and control its processes for greater efficiency and compliance.

WWE adopted Software AG’s ARIS in the cloud as its central process-management platform, digitally mapping its operations—including 1,800 processes, 1,500 technical documents, 500 integrated IT systems and 960 roles—while integrating risk, compliance and audit trails. The result: higher transparency and efficiency, legal certainty on data protection, a paperless workplace, the ability to roll out new digital services (e.g., digital grid connections and the “We 4.0” initiative), and plans to extend process mining and risk integration.
