GAZ-SYSTEM S.A. aggregates data from 3,000 points using BPM

GAZ‑SYSTEM S.A. is Poland’s gas transmission operator, created from six former regional pipeline operators to manage national pipeline transmission and ensure non‑discriminatory market access. Facing EU market liberalization, the company had disparate processes and roughly 40 separate IT systems and needed timely, accurate information on actual and planned transmission volumes—aggregating data from thousands of field telemetry points—to support customers and regulatory obligations.

GAZ‑SYSTEM implemented an Information Exchange System using Software AG’s webMethods BPMS and ARIS to integrate systems, standardize processes and support the EDIG@S industry standard. The project cut the IT landscape from about 40 systems to 8, published unified, standardized data from roughly 3,000 telemetry points on an online portal, prepared process definitions for a later SAP ERP rollout, and enabled process automation, settlements improvements and business activity monitoring for future SLAs and scorecards.
