Fraport implements process and application architecture using ARIS

Fraport AG, the operator of Frankfurt Airport and a global airport-management company with more than 19,000 employees and over 1,100 supporting applications, faced growing difficulty managing and maintaining process and application information stored in a sprawling Excel spreadsheet. This made it hard to map dependencies, provide timely answers to business and IT, meet regulatory and data-protection obligations, and enable decentralized maintenance across the organization.

Fraport deployed Software AG’s ARIS suite (Architect, Publisher and IT Inventory), established a metamodel and centralized ARIS repository, and assigned about 40 users to maintain data via a web front end. The solution replaced Excel, provided fast, reliable reporting and comprehensive dependency views, clarified responsibilities, boosted productivity and cost efficiency, and improved compliance and decision-making.
